Terms of use

Scope and relationship to other rules

These Terms of Use apply to the use of the Renki account. The Renki Account is provided by Renki Communications Åkerlundinkatu 8, 33100 Tampere Finland (hereinafter “Renki Communications”, “we” or “us”), with other companies in the Renki operator network (hereinafter collectively “Renki operators”) contributing to the provision of the service. You can open and save the current Terms of Use at any time via the link below. We do not save the text of the contract after it has been concluded.

The password-protected Renki Account provides you with a so-called “Single Sign-On” (“SSO” or “single sign-on”) service and enables you to use the Renki system (collectively, the “Renki Account” or “Renki Service”). Once registered, Single Sign-On enables operators of offices, shops, public spaces, factories, industrial operators, schools and universities to access other target services with the same username and password, provided that the target service in question has implemented Single Sign-On, a Renki Account and the Renki System.

A Renki account accessible via the target services, allows you to view, access, manage and correct your data in a centralised manner.

The Renki Account service is provided in accordance with the following Renki Account Terms of Use.

These Terms of Use do not apply to separate contracts with third parties as part of the Target Services, for example, when making purchases or obtaining services. These are subject to the specific terms and conditions of each Target Service.

Registration, account and contracting

To use a Renki account, you must register for a single sign-on to a linked Destination Service and create a username and password for your Renki account. The password is used together with the e-mail address or username to log in to the Renki account.

The information provided by the user during registration must be correct. The provision of third party information is prohibited. If the information is subsequently changed, the customer must correct the information in the Renki account without undue delay.

Depending on the destination service, the e-mail address or username must be confirmed during the registration process. For this purpose, we will send the user an email with a confirmation link. If the email address is not confirmed, the registration process cannot be continued.

After completing the registration process, you will be registered as a user of the Renki account by clicking on the Register button. Before pressing this button, you can cancel the registration at any time or modify the information provided by deleting the data entered in the various fields or adding new data.

Purpose of the Renki account service

The purpose of the Renki Account is to provide a single password-protected Single Sign On service for the use of target services provided by different Renki operators. This means first and foremost that the created Renki account can be used to register/login to all destination services using the Renki account without having to register separately or re-enter detailed user data.

You can also activate the ‘Stay logged in’ function to enable a smooth login process. Once activated, a persistent cookie (valid for six months) is placed on your device’s browser to ensure that your Renki account will recognise you on your next visit. This cookie can also be deleted at any time through your browser settings.

If you register for a Renki account on a Renki operator’s network that is connected to your Renki account without having previously registered on another Renki operator’s network, you will automatically create a Renki account for yourself. If you have previously registered with another Renki operator’s network that is integrated with your Renki account, you can log in to your new Renki operator with your existing Renki IDs. So there are several Renki operators and you can log in to all of them with your Renki account. Please note that each operator sets its own network terms and conditions, which you will need to read and accept before you can use their service.

Renki-Auth gives you an interportal identity, which is recognised and validated by the Renki operators connected to it and which you can use to manage your Renki account via the Renki app. The Renki Account portal allows you to centrally view, access, manage and correct your data collected from different operators. Basic customer data and other information, as well as basic customer data and other information provided when using other Renki operators, are stored in the Renki Account Portal. This allows you to centrally view all your basic customer information, your login information and information about your circumstances and preferences in the My Information section, as well as information about the coupons you have used from your operator partners, in the Renki-account portal. When using certain functionalities, your data will be transmitted to the relevant service provider, where necessary, to enable the service transaction to be carried out.

There is no charge for using your Renki account. However, there may be costs associated with using the services of actual operators and partners, which will be transparently disclosed in the service as required by law. The same applies to any third-party services, such as Internet access, that may be required to use the service.

You may wish to enable or your user account may require two-factor authentication. When two-factor authentication is activated, the user will be prompted to enter a password.

Effects of withdrawal

If you cancel this contract, we will refund to you all payments we have received from you, including the delivery costs (except for the additional costs of choosing a delivery method other than the cheapest standard delivery method we offer), without delay and in any event no later than 14 days after we receive notice of cancellation. We will make the refund using the payment method you used for the original transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise, and in any event at no cost to you for the refund.

Warranty, liability

The performance of the services of individual Renki operators and their affiliates is the sole responsibility of the provider of the service in question. Renki Communications is not liable for any claims that may arise from these. The same applies to any other independent third party found on the Renki system, such as the Internet Service Provider.

Renki Communications shall not be liable for any system failures or malfunctions of the Renki account, for any disruptions in the availability of the services of the Renki providers, or for any consequences thereof. Renki Communications is also not liable for any loss or damage caused by any interruption, modification, termination or other similar event of the Renki Account and/or the system. However, this is without prejudice to the rights of the consumer under mandatory consumer protection legislation.

You shall be entitled to compensation for any direct and proximate damage caused to you as a result of any failure to provide the service under this Agreement. However, we will not be liable to you for consequential loss unless the error or resulting loss is due to negligence on our part or the digital content or services contracted for are different from what we have specifically agreed to provide.

Our liability is limited to damages recoverable under mandatory consumer protection legislation and we are not liable for any other damage or loss.

The limitations of liability described above do not apply to our liability under a specific warranty or under product liability law.

Termination, cancellation, amendments

Either Renki Communications or you may terminate your relationship with the Account Service without notice. As part of the management of the Renki Account, the User may delete his/her account at any time.

Termination by Renki Communications is particularly relevant in the event of a breach of these Terms of Use by the User. Pending the resolution of the related issues, user data may be blocked.

The Renki operators and the user may also terminate the customer relationship with the Renki operator without notice. As part of the management of the Renki account, the user may at any time delete his account with the Renki operator.

In particular, we reserve the right to correct any errors.

Data protection

Your personal data will be processed in accordance with the applicable data protection legislation. In order to provide the Renki Account service, it is necessary to disclose the information you provide to the service provider of each Renki operator, so that they can identify the user and perform the services they provide on the Renki system.

Details of how to do this can be found in our privacy policy.
